Officials from the Bali Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) have published the estimated costs of centralized quarantine for international visitors once the border reopens.

As the central government recently regulated a centralized quarantine as one of the entry requirements for international travelers, The Deputy Chief of Cultural, Environment and Public Relation of PHRI, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya informed that the cost of quarantine for each traveler may be vary, depending on their hotel facility preference.

“The Bali provincial government will provide several types of hotels as quarantine facilities for travelers including 3 star to 5 star hotels between US $700 (IDR 10 million) and US $1750 (IDR 25 million) for 8 days”, Suryawijaya said.

It all depends on their hotel preferences.”

Suryawijaya also proposed that the government reduce quarantine time for international visitors, in order to attract more tourists.

“The Government needs to adjust this quarantine policy, so we can compete with other countries such as UAE and Turkey that have already reopened their border for visitors without implementing quarantine as requirement,” Suryawijaya added.

The Bali Hotels Association have already prepared 35 quarantine hotels, while the another 62 hotels are still being prepared.

Suryawijaya concluded by explaining that all the quarantine hotels preparing for international arrivals will be unable to house domestic tourists to prevent Covid-19 from entering the quarantine facilities.

Bali will be one of the few countries in the world that forces fully vaccinated tourists to quarantine upon arrival. The only countries allowed to enter Bali will be China, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
